China Township is a charter township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,340 at the 2000 census.
There were 1,106 households out of which 42.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.8% were married couples living together, 5.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.6% were non-families. 12.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.01 and the average family size was 3.29.
In the township the population was spread out with 29.4% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $62,194, and the median income for a family was $65,875. Males had a median income of $51,268 versus $27,292 for females. The per capita income for the township was $22,674. About 1.8% of families and 2.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 0.7% of those under age 18 and 3.1% of those age 65 or over.
