The Chief Minister of the Isle of Man is the Executive Member of the Isle of Man's parliament; Tynwald. The Chief Minister is elected by Members of Tynwald after a General Election for a term in office of five years. The incumbent is eligible to stand again at the end of their term (if they are still a Member of Tynwald). The post of Chief Minister was introduced in December 1986. Prior to that the Head of Government was the Chairman of the Executive Council.

A new Chief Minister will be elected following the General Election in November 2006.
