Chevelle is a hard rock band from Grayslake, IL founded by brothers Joe, Pete and Sam Loeffler. They formed in 1994 and broke out in 2002 with their signature song, "The Red." The band is now signed to Epic Records.
While the band originally featured the Loeffler brothers, Joe Loeffler was relieved of his duties as bassist July 10, 2005 due to "irreconcilable differences" as stated on the band's website. He was replaced by Geno Lenardo, also a one-time remix producer for the band, for the rest of the 2005 summer tour. On August 20, 2005 Lenardo was replaced on bass by Dean Bernadini, the brother-in-law to the Loeffler brothers.
Critics say the voice of Loeffler is refreshingly unique, powerful, and filled with emotion. Many agree that he has one of the best voices in hard rock to date.
Chevelle is currently working on a new album that will be released in 2006 with the songs "Humanoid" and "Straight Jacket Fashion" being played live.*
