Celebrity Charades is a television program which debuted on June 20 2005 on the AMC television network in America. The show stems from a private series of parties hosted by actor Chad Lowe and his wife actress Hilary Swank. On the show celebrity teams of five are sent into two separate rooms. In each round of play a set of five answers to be guessed are pre-determined (always movie titles.) One person from each team is given the first title, and then they must run to a section of the house where their teammates are waiting. There they must get them to guess the answer. The team member who guesses correctly runs to the central location where someone is waiting with the second answer to be guessed. this goes on for five answers. When all answers are guessed, the team must come up with the common theme that chains the answers togethers. When they get this correct, they win the round.

Unlike many celebrity gameshows such as "Celebrity Poker", there is no prize awarded. Instead all particpants agree to donate their appearance fee to a charity of their choice.
