Caution Tape (also Warning Tape or Police Tape) is resilient plastic tape of a signal color or highly contrasting color combination (such as yellow-black or red-white).

Usage

It is wrapped and affixed as visual warning sign and demarcation, for instance against entering a dangerous area, accessing the scene of an accident or a crime, or against handling inoperative machinery or appliances. It often carries corresponding warnings prominently in writing.

As a theatrical prop, caution tape was featured prominently in the Seinfeld episode The Frogger.
