This is a list of personal character traits that are commonly and widely regarded as virtues. A virtue is a character trait valued as being good.

This list is not reduced in any manner, which means that two or more virtues may partially or entirely overlap in meaning (for example the virtues kindness, mercy, charity, generosity and compassion).
