This category combines sexual disorders (with psychological as opposed to physiological causes), and gender identity disorders. This category is listed in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. As in all of the DSM diagnoses, there must be significant distress or impairment for the diagnosis of a clinical condition.
