Norway is divided into 19 administrative regions, called counties (fylker, singular - fylke, Nynorsk: singular and plural fylke; until 1918 known as singular and plural- amt), and 431 municipalities (kommuner - Nynorsk: kommunar). There is also a list of municipalities by county.
