Australia has a unique commercial history. This is reflected in the local brandnames, and in local representations of international brands.
International companies have often had very different productlines, sometimes even lacking what in other markets were their flagship products, reflecting the tastes and sensitivities of the Australian people.
Unique brandnames and products like Vegemite are internationally known, others, like Kirks softdrinks (sodas) are regional. Some are still independently owned, but many have been acquired by international conglomerates.
