Carnival Splendor will be the lead ship of new class of "fun ship" for Carnival Cruise Lines that will launch in Spring 2008. It will have a tonnage of around 112,000 tons and feature the largest spa in the fleet, as well as the largest children's area in the fleet. Additionally, the main pool will be covered by a 2 deck high glass wall with a balcony on the top.
In addition to Carnival Splendor, Carnival has ordered the 110,000-ton Carnival Freedom, scheduled to enter service in February 2007, and an as yet unnamed 130,000-ton cruise ship that should debut in Fall 2009.
