"Camillagate" was the name given to the scandal surrounding the affair between Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles. A key factor in the scandal was a tape of a sexually explicit telephone conversation between Charles and Camilla, made on December 18, 1989. The first transcript was published in the press towards the end of 1992.

Infamously, in the conversation, Charles told Camilla that he wanted to be reincarnated as her tampon.
