California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) is located in Camarillo, California, in California's Ventura County. CSUCI opened in 2002 as the twenty third campus in the California State University system, succeeding the Los Angeles County branch campus of CSU Northridge.

The campus and buildings previously housed the Camarillo State Mental Hospital. The campus is under continuing construction to accommodate the projected growth of the university; while currently there are under 3,000 registered students, projected enrollment for the year 2025 is 15,000 full-time students.

CSUCI offers undergraduate majors in fourteen areas of study: art, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, English: literature and writing, environmental science and resource management, history, information technology, liberal studies, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and Spanish, as well as several teaching credential programs and master's degrees in business administration, biotechnology and bioinformatics, computer science, education, and mathematics. A undergraduate majors in anthropology, applied physics, chicano studies, early childhood studies, performing arts, and political science are planned to begin in Fall 2006.*

The school colors are red and silver and the mascot is the dolphin.
