Caged is a 1950 film which tells the story of a young woman who is sent to prison for being an accessory to a robbery. Her time in jail changes her from an innocent into a hardened convict.

The movie was adapted by Virginia Kellogg from the story Women Without Men by Kellogg and Bernard C. Schoenfeld. It was directed by John Cromwell.

Plot

A 19-year-old woman (Parker) is sent to prison after a botched armed robbery attempt with her husband goes bad. While receiving her prison physical, she finds out that she is two months pregnant with her dead husband's baby. Later, she goes into early labor while behind bars after a convict friend commits suicide. After being in trouble a few times, including being locked up in solitary confinement and having her head shaved by a sadistic prison guard, the woman starts becoming more like the career criminals she's locked in with.
