CMX is a division of Wildstorm Productions, an imprint of DC comics which in turn is owned by Time-Warner. It is DC's line of manga translations.

Controversy

At the time of release of Tenjho Tenge, it became apparent that the title was going to be released both censored in its content and changed graphically to appeal to a "larger demographic." CMX announced that these changes had been done with the approval of Oh! Great, the Manga-ka. When the title was released, it was indeed drastically changed. So much so that a major plot point, which would have repercussions in further issues, was eliminated. This has caused a backlash in the fanbase, so much so that a fan boycott of all CMX titles was asked. As of February 2006, CMX has not had any form of press release about the future of Tenjho Tenge, nor of its opinion on the fan backlash. It should be noted that other titles such as Sword of the Dark Ones and Testarotho were not censored or changed despite being a mature manga.
