A CEN Workshop Agreement (commonly abbreviated CWA) is a reference document from the European Committee on Standardization (CEN). It is by definition not an official standard from the member organizations.
In the field of electronic signatures, several CWAs exists. In July 2003 (decision 2003/511/EC) the European Commission granted the following three CWAs status as generally recognized technical standards, presumed to be in accordance with the European Directive on Electronic Signatures (1999/93/EC):
