The Bush family is sometimes said to have Native American ancestry. Robert Bolling Jr. (a 10th-generation ancestor of George W. Bush) is the son of Robert Bolling and Anne Stith, whom Bolling married after the death of his first wife, Jane Rolfe, a granddaughter of Pocahontas. *

Another Bush ancestor, Austin Bearse, has been claimed to have married Mary Hyanno, a descendant of Wampanoag Indians. This assertion has been disputed for decades. *

Kerry family

Edmund Reade (1563-1623) married Elizabeth Cooke (before 1578 - about 1637). They had two daughters: Margaret (1598-1672) and Elizabeth (1615-1672). Margaret is a direct lineal ancestor of George W.
