Bunopithecus sericus is an extinct gibbon or gibbon-like primate. Its remains were first discovered in China, but have since been found all over Southern Europe and Asia. It did not have a tail like modern apes and was a frugivore.

Although the two hoolock gibbon species were once included in the Bunopithecus genus, they have recently been removed and B. sericus remains as the only known species of this genus.
