Brookdale Community College is an accredited, coeducational, two-year public community college in Lincroft, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The college was founded in 1967. It has secondary campuses in Asbury Park, Freehold Township, Keansburg, Long Branch, Sandy Hook and Wall Township.

Campus


The Lincroft campus is comprised of 22 buildings totaling 731,353 square feet, including the Center for the Visual Arts, the Bankier Library, the Center for World War 2 Studies, the new Student Life Center and its most recent renovation, the Center of Counseling, Admissions, and Registration.

The Lincroft campus is also home to the Monmouth Museum, the 380-seat Brookdale Performing Arts Center and Brookdale Public Radio, 90.5 The NIGHT aka WBJB. Both the Performing Arts Center and 90.5 the NIGHT serve the Brookdale and greater Monmouth County community with performances, National Public Radio, and classic music.

The Lincoft campus also hosts the High Technology High School, a competitive, specialized public school.

Academics


The college offers over 60 two-year degree programs and a variety of degree certificates. The college also offers non-credit classes and IT Certificate training. In 2003, Brookdale launched the NJ Coastal Communiversity program to offer bachelor and masters degrees to its students. The courses are offered in partnership with Georgian Court College, Kean University, Montclair State University, New Jersey City University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Ocean County College, and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Extracurricular Activities


The college's newspaper is entitled The Stall and annual arts publication is Collage.

Students are represented on the college's Governance and the college sponsors an award-winning Forensics team, which competes internationally in speaking events such as After Dinner Speaking, Informational Speaking, Persuasion, Prose, Program Oral Interpretation, Duo, and other limited prep events.

Alpha Pi Theta, Brookdale's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, enables students to graduate with honors and seek numerous scholarships when transferring to four-year universities. All students who complete their first semester with a GPA of 3.7 or higher are invited to join PTK.
