Boorama is a town in western Somalia, near the border with Ethiopia. It is located at around . It is located in the Awdal region in the self-proclaimed, but internationally unrecognized, Republic of Somaliland. Boorama is the commercial center of an arid region in which livestock herding is mixed with subsistence farming. Boorama is an important education center, and is the home of Amoud University, the Amoud Secondary School, and the Al-Aqsa Secondary School.
