Bob Thaves, also known as Robert Thaves, (born 1924 in USA) is the creator of the comic strip Frank and Ernest which began in 1972. He knew as a kid he wanted to be a cartoonist and he drew and studied the works of others. He was so skilled he could identify the cartoonist of a comic strip without looking at the signature. During college the first of his cartoons were printed in magazines. He studied psychology at the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1950. Later he worked in industrial psychology while inventing the Frank and Ernest cartoon strip.
