BloodRayne is a 2006 film based on the eponymous video game from Majesco (and the game developer, Terminal Reality), with Uwe Boll directing the movie. The film stars Kristanna Loken and Matthew Davis.

Story
Based on the popular video game, the film centers on an attractive, supernatural huntress named Rayne (Loken), who is an unholy breed of human and vampire called a Dhampir. Trained by a secret agency called the Brimstone Society which hunts down and eliminates supernatural threats around the globe, Rayne is confronted by the deadliest of all creatures, the powerful and evil Kagan, King of the Vampires (Kingsley).

theaters nationwide. It was originally to have played at up to 2500 theaters, but that number dropped to 1600 and ended up lower due to prints being shipped to theaters that had not licensed the film.

RottenTomatoes with a freshness of only 7%. The film ended up grossing $3,591,980

Trivia
- It is another of Uwe Boll's controversial video game based films.
- Uwe Boll was unable to direct House of the Dead 2 due to his commitment to the film.
- It is a prequel to the game, taking place 240 years prior to it, despite the fact that the Rayne character was established as being teenaged or in her early twenties at the start of the first game. It is said that the film is not part of the BloodRayne (videogame) series because it does not follow the BloodRayne time line.
- The company that bought the rights, Vierte Boll Kino Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG (Boll KG), is the same one for other game-to-movie adaptions Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead.
- Only vampires were featured in the film, no other creatures from the game.
- BloodRayne premiered as the 53rd worst movie on IMDB.com's Bottom 100 list a week before the movie premiered.
- Critics * ridiculed director Boll for hiring actual prostitutes instead of actors for a scene featuring Meat Loaf in order to save on production costs. They were allegedly only paid 150 euros.
- Despite the film doing poorly in the United States, it has thus far performed well in its sole two countries: Russia and United Arab Emerates. In Russia, the movie debuted at #3 while United Arab Emirates debuted the film at #1.
