Blackburn Aircraft Ltd. was a British aircraft manufacturer.
Founded 1914, as Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Company, a new factory was built at Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire in 1916. The name was changed to Blackburn Aircraft Ltd. in 1939, and the company amalgamated with General Aircraft Ltd in 1949. It was finally absorbed by the Hawker Siddeley Company in 1960.
Through the acquiistionof the Cirrus-Hermes company in 1937. Blackburn started producing aircraft engines - the Blackburn Cirrus range.
