Bizarre (born Rufus Johnson, in Detroit, Michigan on July 5, 1976) is an American rapper and member of the group D12.

He started in a group called "The Outsidaz" with Rah Digga and Eminem. Later, Bizarre would release a 7-track album called Attack Of The Weirdos with the underground hit "What, What".

He has appeared in many magazines including Rolling Stone and The Source.

In September 1998, Bizarre is fat Inner City Entertainment's Flava of the Year award.

Personality

Bizarre is well-known as a D12 member for his "unconventional" lyrics. In the past, he has rapped about such topics as rape, drugs, transvestites, bisexuality, watersports and incest. His solo song on D12 World, "Just Like U" was even partly-censored on the explicit version of the album. Bizarre also "explains" his use of severely explicit lyrics on the track:

Talkin nasty shit, Bizarre won't stop.
I fuck two twins, with a midget on top.
A sick mind, raping an old lady.
Knowing damn well Bizarre shouldn't have a baby,
All I can teach you, learn how to mac.
Smoke crack, smack a bitch when she talk back.
Matta fact smack your sister, she's a slut.
Don't you realize Bizarre don't give a fuck?

When mentioned by people unfamiliar with D12, many refer to Bizarre as "the fat guy," due to his obvious obesity. He also collects shower caps, and is often seen wearing them.

He attributes his name to his weirdness:

I came up with the title because I really felt like most musicians that I've been around are fucking weird. I know I have my little weird ways, so I consider myself a special artist. Im a guy that chews paper, wears a shower cap in public, pops Vicodin pills and goes fishing. Theres not a lot of entertainment out there everything is so hardcore, shoot 'em up bang bang. I'm here to lighten up the hip-hop game.

Although he often talks about women, it is sometimes suggested in lyrics that Bizarre is married. In "Good Die Young", he says "I got married, My wife's name is Dee" and in "One Shot Two Shot" he talks about a wife, who inevitably gets trampled on within the song. As well in the album booklet for 'D12 World' in the 'thanks' section he writes "Jehova God, my loving wife, my daughter Dominique...To everyone I missed, I love you, for real."

Discography

His solo debut full-length album, titled Hannicap Circus, was released on June 28 with the first single being "Rock Star," which is produced by multiplatinum rapper Eminem, who is also a member of D12. Hi-Tek, Big Boi, Devin the Dude, and Raphael Saadiq also made contributions to the album. It has reached #17 on the UK Singles Chart and #50 on the Australian singles chart. The album has also charted on the UK Albums Chart, at #43, and on the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums Chart at #48 and the Australian ARIA urban charts at #15.

Guest appearances

From The Marshall Mathers LP (by Eminem):
  • 2000 "Amityville" (Eminem featuring Bizarre)
  • Is scheduled to appear on the Twiztid album, Independences Day, in 2006. It is interesting to note that he and Twiztid are good friends and are on the same label as Insane Clown Posse, whom Eminem had a feud with. The feud was officially resolved recently, when fellow D12 member, Proof, sat down and talked it out with the group.
