Biomechatronics is an applied interdisciplinary science that aims to integrate mechanical elements in the human body, both for therapeutic uses (e.g. artificial hearts) and for augmentation of existing abilities. (This is primarily sought for military technology.) Biomechatronics contains aspects of biology, mechanics, and electronics.
It is, in short, the science of “real-life cyborgs”.
