The Asian Institute of Management, or simply AIM, is a center of business and management research, although AIM is better known for executive education. It was founded in 1968, and is located in Manila, Philippines. It was touted by Asiaweek as the best in the Asia-Pacific region, and other magazines as one of the top three in the region in the field of business education. It is called by its alumni affectionally as the Harvard of the East, due to its close relationship with Harvard Business School during its early years, as well as its use of Harvard teaching methods.
AIM has a local board of trustees and an international board of governors. Today, AIM executes over twenty distinct programs each year.
It received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for International Understanding in 1995, for training Asians in management of business and development. WIth its commitment to the quality and the environment, AIM also became the world's first graduate school of management to receive the ISO 14001 standard in 2000. In 2004 it was one of only two Asian schools to be accredited by the AACSB and EFMD *.
The school also offers a one year, Master in Management program, which was inaugurated in 1974 and a one year Master in Development Management *..
