"Around The World" is a single released off the Red Hot Chili Peppers 1999 album "Californication". It was released on September the 14th 1999 as the 2nd single off the album. This single was released in 2 parts each holding different B-Sides. On Part 1 a demo version of "Parallel Universe" is present along with "Teatro Jam", a previously unreleased song. On Part 2, two live songs are used, "Me And My Friends" and "Yertle Trilogy".

It is the first song on Californication, and one of the few tracks on the album where the Red Hot Chili Peppers stick closely to their roots in rap and funk, although the song's chorus and outro reflects upon their newfound melodic balladry influences. Therefore, the track could be seen as summing up the album as a whole.

Californication attracted criticism for having excessive amounts of high-freqeuncy digital clipping throughout the album. This is clearly evident on the intro of "Around the World", which is very loud, almost abrasive.
