Arlon (Dutch: Aarlen, German: Arel) is a Belgian municipality located in the Walloon province of Luxembourg, of which it is the capital. On January 1st, 2005 Arlon had a total population of 25,986. The total area is 118.64 km² which gives a population density of 219.04 inhabitants per km². Arlon is twinned with Saint-Dié-des-Vosges (France), Diekirch (Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg) Bitburg (Germany twinned since 1965), Sulphur (USA), Hayange (France), Alba (Italy) and Market Drayton (United Kingdom).

The local tipple of Maitrank (made from white wine, Cognac and woodruff) is celebrated with its own festival each May.
