Arkivoc stands for Archive for Organic Chemistry and is an online open access scientific journal of organic chemistry. The non-profit organisation Arkat USA Inc was established in 2000 through a personal donation from Alan and Linde Katritzky. Arkat's primary goal is to publish Arkivoc with a view to promoting the dissemination of the most recent discoveries and research results in the field of organic chemistry over worries of escalating subscription costs of established scientific journals.
