Anti-clerics or Anti-mullahs or Anti-Ayatollah

Anti-clerics refers to those people who are hostile toward muslim clerics or have prejudice against clerics and Ayatollahs.

Anti-clerics do not appreciate reformist and democratic-secular clerics and consider them as extremists and fundamentalists.

Examples


"Iran after the elections" conference

In April 2000 "Iran after the elections" conference was held in Berlin's Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt (House of World Cultures) in which many famous Iranian activists and intellectuals took part. In the middle of the conference an anti-cleric man, completely nude, gesticulating with pictures of some Iranian clerical leaders and a woman dancing Iranian sexy dances, and a group of anti-clerics and protestors started shouting noisily "akhound * go to hell" and "death to mullahs". The aim was not to allow Iranian secular clerics and religious scholars to set up such a conference in Europe.

Many Iranian secular intellectuals including a few secular clerics (Hassan Yousefi Eshkevari) who attended the Berlin conference were arrested and charged afterwards.

Iranian anti-clerics have attacked many conferences held in Europe, in which secular clerics took part.

Anti-cleric philosopher

In an interview with IRAN PRESS SERVICE, Prof. Aramesh Doustdar, Iranian philosopher, said: He (President Khatami) lacks authority. But one must not forget that he also is an akhound in persian and as far as we know, akhounds are very complicated type of the mankind, the nigger in the woodpile.

He added: Khatami is not and can not be a cultured man in the Western meaning of the word culture for the simple reason that he is an akhound. 1

Dr. Doustdar is a very influential philosopher in Iran and has remarkable number of followers.
