The Anthrosphere includes all man-made urban environments, including urban and suburban sprawls. Today, the anthrosphere is growing at an ecologically unstabilising fast pace. Since man and his hominid ancestors came into existence about three million yeas ago, his population levels hace remained relatively stable, amounting to about 5-10 million individuals. The population has increased exponentially since 1650 AD. Further increased during the industrial revolution, the anthrosphere has massively expanded to compensate.
