Anmore, British Columbia, is a small community in the Greater Vancouver Regional District, north of the city of Port Moody and along the shores of the Indian Arm. Population (2001) is 1,344. It is one of four politically independent villages in the greater Vancouver area, the others being its neighbour Belcarra, Bowen Island and Lions Bay.
A 1978 plan for the village to have 15,000 residents by 1988 was vocally opposed by its residents, and they have instead insisted on preserving what they call their "semi-rural" goal.
Anmore is home to the Buntzen Lake Regional Park which has a popular swimming beach. Buntzen Lake also has a hydro-electric power generation station, and a ferry located at the bottom of the service road which provides service to Buntzen Bay.
