Angiospermae is one of several botanical names allowed (see Art 16 of the ICBN) for the most important group of plants on land, i.e. the flowering plants or in APG II usage: angiosperms (not capitalized).

Other botanical names in use for this group are Anthophyta (flowering plants), Magnoliophyta and Magnoliopsida (the latter two names not meaning anything but signifying a division and class, formed from the family name Magnoliaceae).
