Angela Beesley is a British Internet entrepreneur. She is a co-founder and "Vice President Community Relations" of Wikia, Inc..

Early experience

Beesley was born in Norwich, England. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Psychology from Aston University in 2000. She was formerly an educational researcher and test developer.Wikimedia Board Biography

Career

In October 2004, Beesley, together with Jimmy Wales founded Wikia. Beesley was elected onto the Board of Trustees of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation in 2004 and re-elected in 2005. During this time, she was very active in both editing content and setting policy, such as privacy policy, within the Foundation. She was also involved with the annual Wikimanias. She announced her resignation from that position in July 2006 but indicates that she is still an active contributor to and promoter of the encyclopedia.Wikimedia Foundation press release regarding Beesley resignation

She sits on the advisory board of the media archive Ourmedia. She is scheduled to speak at the 2006 WikiSym, a conference regarding wikis.
