Andrew Jackson University is a private, medium-sized, accredited and non-sectarian institution of higher learning. It offers undergraduate (B.A.,B.S) and graduate (M.A., M.S., M.B.A., M.P.A.) degrees through its colleges of liberal arts, social sciences and business school. The university offers undergraduate and graduate studies in business administration, criminal justice and public administration, health services management, finance and international business. In addition to degrees, the university's schools also offer certificate programs in law enforcement management, homeland security, corrections, criminology, finance business, management, communication writing, mass media and communication.

Additionally, the school also offers non-traditional delivery of instruction through innovative, technological means via the internet, distance studying or a combination of both, where students can obtain their degrees with minimal residency requirements. AJU was one of the pioneer schools in delivering accredited education via long-distance studies.
