Andreas Lundstedt is a Swedish musician (born Björn Helge Andreas Lundstedt, on 20 May, 1972, in Uppsala) who is best-known as a member of the pop-disco group, Alcazar.

Biography


Since childhood, Andreas Lundstedt has wanted to be a singer. At the age of five he took part in a talent competition for children and achieved second place. By the age of fifteen he appeared regularly on television and in shows as a member of the band Stage Four. Stage Four consisted four of the now most famous singers in Sweden; Andreas Lundstedt himself, Peter Jöback, Lisa Nilsson and Lizette Pålsson. In 1998 Andreas was the founding member of the successful Swedish pop-disco band Alcazar, which still exists. Lundstedt is openly gay and was involved in a relationship with another member of Alcazar, Magnus Carlsson. Alcazar made its European breakthrough with the hit single "Crying at the Discotheque". After this hugh hit Alcazar has had many hit singles. One of them is This is the world we live in which was a big summer hit in 2004. Also during his membership with Alcazar Andreas Lundstedt started his own solo project. Lundstedt has released one album and four singles in the years 1996-1997, and in 2006 he realised a new single with the name "Lovegun/Nightfver". At this single Lundstedt sings a cover of the Bee Gees hit song Nightfever, and one new written song. Additionally, he has had roles in the musicals Grease and Chicago. In the Ataumn 2005 and in the spring 2006 Andreas Lundstedt playd the starring role as Tony Manero in the musical Saturday Night Fever in Stockholm, Sweden. Andreas Lundstedt is also working as a choreographer, and have coreographed many of Alcazars dancemoves.

Eurovision Song Contest


Andreas Lundstedt has participated in Sweden's Melodifestivalen four times. Twice as a solo artist with the song Driver dagg faller regn in 1996 and the song jag saknar dig, jag saknar dig in 1997, and twice as a member of Alcazar with the song Not a sinner, nor a saint in 2003 and the song Alcastar in 2005. He is also one of the members of Six4one, which represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song If we all give a little. Six4one has released one album in 2006. One this album the members sings two songs each, and five together.
