Aleksander Knavs (born December 5, 1975 in Maribor) is a Slovenian footballer.

His playing career started in the Slovenian capital with Olimpija Ljubljana. The Der FC Tirol Innsbruck coach at that time, Kurt Jara, became interested in the 1,91 m tall defender and brought him to Innsbruck. After winning three Bundesliga titles in a row Knavs was transferred to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he spent three years. His next team was VfL Bochum, but following their relegation from the Bundesliga Knavs returned to Austria and Red Bull Salzburg.

Aleksander Knavs has been capped 52 times for Slovenia. He was present at the and 2002 FIFA World Cup.
