Surat al-A'raf (Arabic: سورة الأعراف ) ("The Heights")* is the seventh chapter of the Qur'an, with 206 verses. It is a Makkan sura.

Verses refer to the concept of Araf (a place between Heaven and Hell, purgatory) and those who are in Araf. These unfortunates are not allowed into Heaven and beg not to go to Hell, This sura touches on the basics of faith and contains much basic instruction. It discusses some prophets and comments on the behaviour of some communities.
