Advanced Media Network (AMN) is a multimedia network which provides daily coverage for the entertainment and video game industry. AMN content includes reviews, previews, news, editorials, podcasts, and more.
AMN was founded by Ken Cauley and Sean O' Neill as a GameCube fan site at ultimategamez. As the site's popularity grew, it eventually became known as Gamecube Advanced, which in turn branched out to include additional areas of gaming. Xbox Advanced was launched to focus on Microsoft's Xbox console, and was the first of several portals designed for specific consoles.
Recent additions to the AMN stable of sites include podcasts and AMNtv - an on-location video-show covering the latest press events around the world. AMN has also extended its reach by hosting 'outer sites', which are run independently but are hosted on the AMN servers. This includes the popular role-playing game site, RPGamer.com, the movie news site E-Insiders (Entertainment Insiders) and Revo-Europe.
AMN recently gathered critism from users of their site due to unreliable content and constant downtime due to poor server bandwidth. Spokespeople from AMN have claimed that new servers are being installed, however, as of yet no product of these claims has emerged as the site's many channels and Revo-Europe still experience periods of downtime.
