The Academy of Machinima Arts & Sciences (AMAS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and advocacy of the machinima industry. Founded in March 2002 by ILL Clan co-founder Paul Marino and other machinima producers, the AMAS holds film festivals for machinima. As part of these festivals, exemplary machinima productions are recognized through awards nicknamed the Mackies.
