Chiltern FM is an Independent Local Radio station based in Chiltern Road in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. It was originally owned, like its sister stations 96.9 Chiltern FM, Northants 96 and FM 103 Horizon, by the Chiltern Radio Network, which became the Chiltern Radio Group.
Before the MW/FM frequencies were split by all commercial stations from 1988, it broadcast on two MW frequencies on 828 and 792MW. It also used to have Three Counties Radio's Bedfordshire frequency of 95.5FM. The current transmitter is at Zouches Farm, between Luton and Dunstable, close to the M1, which is on the Chiltern Hills.
In the 1990s, the Chiltern Radio Group bought Severn Sound in Gloucester. The Group was Bought by GWR Group in 1995.
In 2005 GWR merged with Capital Radio to become Gcap.
The station runs Gcap's Graham Torrington's Late Night Love every weekday night from 10pm until 1am and Hit 40 UK every Sunday from 4-7pm.
