• Trajan starts an expedition against Parthia and annexes Armenia.
• Trajan's Column is erected in Rome.
• Start of the eastern war, Osroes of Parthia violated the treaty with Rome by installing a puppet ruler in Armenia. The 60 year old emperor, Trajan, marched east without first attempting to use diplomacy to resolve the disagreement.
