Sochaux ist eine französische Industriestadt im Département Doubs (Region Franche-Comté). Sie hat 4.552 Einwohner im eigentlichen Stadtgebiet, 117.510 in der Agglomeration (Stand 1999). Wichtige Nachbarstädte sind Montbéliard und Belfort.

Bekannt ist Sochaux als Standort der größten Automobil-Fabrik der Marke Peugeot mit etwa 16.000 Mitarbeitern (Stand 2005), durch den Erstliga-Fußballverein FC Sochaux und das Musée de l'Aventure Peugeot.
