Maya Angelou (* 4. April 1928 in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA; gebürtig Marguerite Johnson) ist eine US-amerikanische Schriftstellerin, Professorin und Menschenrechtlerin. Sie ist eine führende Persönlichkeit der Emanzipationsbewegung der Afroamerikaner.
