Die Ethnobotanik ist eine Wissenschaft, deren Untersuchungsgebiet der Überschneidungsbereich von Ethnologie und Botanik ist. Der Ethnobotaniker studiert die wechselseitigen Beziehungen zwischen Menschen und Pflanzen. Als Begründer der Ethnobotanik gilt der US-Amerikaner John W. Harshberger, der den Begriff erstmals 1895 prägte.

Heute beschäftigt sich die Ethnobotanik mit kulturellen Aspekte der Benutzung, Wahrnehmung und dem Management der Pflanzenwelt.
